Lunar Fest is a brand new and ambitious co-production between the Swedish–Japanese Performers Association (SJPA) and Kizune Entertainment. Designed as an international metal showcase, the festival brings the Nordic and Asian metal scenes together under one roof — a space where artists from around the world meet, perform, and connect through a shared passion for heavy music.
Under the banner “two cultures, one night“, five Swedish metal bands and four from Japan will perform at Slaktkyrkan and Hus7, two of Stockholm’s most prominent live venues in the Slakthusområde, on December 4th, 2026.
At its core, Lunar Fest is about more than a single night. Built on cultural exchange and long-term collaboration, it also marks a key milestone for one of SJPA’s longstanding ambitions: presenting the multifaceted Japanese music scene through a multi-artist live format. Lunar Fest 2026 is the first step toward establishing a lasting international platform for heavy music — bridging ambition and tradition.
The full nine-band line-up will be revealed throughout May. Tickets are available via Biletto, with a limited early bird offer available while supplies last.

Confirmed bands

Uz:ME is an international collaboration between Japanese voice actress Rie Tanaka and Swedish rock musicians Patrick Leonheart and Simon Andante, based in Tokyo, Japan.
Blending modern metal, visual kei, J-pop, and electronic music, Uz:ME creates unique and captivating songs that highlight Rie Tanaka’s distinctive voice. Their live performances are nothing short of uplifting and breathtakingly intense. Their debut album SPEKTRA, released in 2025, features genre-defying tracks accompanied by a collection of visually stunning videos, mixing modern metalcore, Japanese cultural fandom, and showmanship.

MAD JAMIE is an idol punk rock project from Udagawa, Shibuya, flying the banner “Kawaii is Fxxk!!”. At Lunar Fest, MAD JAMIE will perform in a band setting for the first time outside Japan! They have just released their third full-length album, “HYPER NATURAL,” filled with the strongest raw impulse of their career. In this shitty world, they have lived with their hearts laid bare — without giving in, without pretending to be something they are not. MAD JAMIE vows eternity, making it impossible not to be swept away by their tsunami of raw energy.
More announcements coming soon!
Special guests from Japan will be revealed soon, alongside the festival’s Japanese headliner—key additions that will complete Lunar Fest’s international line-up. Stay tuned for these names to drop!
Frantic Amber will be the festival’s Swedish headliner. Even though they are based in Stockholm, it is a truly international all-female metal band. They will be bringing their special brand of heavy and low-tune kick ass melodic death metal with female growl and clean vocals, with a trace of thrash, black och progressive metal. Having been active since 2008, they released their latest concept album, “Death Becomes Her” in 2025.
LiV SiN is a metal band bringing a blissful mix of heavy riffs, blast beats, beautiful melodies, growls, pop elements, disco beats and hard rock: the sound can be described as a mix of modern metal but with roots in the classic hard style from Gothenburg. The album “Close Your Eyes” is the band’s fourth album, with a lot of energy and emotions in each song, both through the musical and lyrical aspects.
LÝSIS combines the Gothenburg Sound with melodic metalcore and symphonic metal, earning recognition as one of Sweden’s most promising metal acts. Their latest and heaviest track was released on October 25th, “Rotten Delusion,” featuring crushing riffs, symphonic layers, and powerful vocals, capturing their intense and evolving sound.
Two cultures, one night
With its first edition, Lunar Fest sets the stage for something that reaches far beyond a single night. By bringing together artists, scenes, and audiences across borders, the festival aims to spark new connections, inspire future collaborations, and leave a lasting imprint on the global metal landscape. We’ll see you there on December 4th!
